, by the way, to cnn. nothing like anchoring your first show in a blizzard, right? >> poppy, thank you very much. please try and stay out of the wind. everything can change very quickly there. now, one of the things we're going to do throughout the program to show you just what it would be like if you're outside, and hopefully it's a reminder to not be outside is the blizzard cam. it's in a car, moving around boston, just to give you a sense of the atmospherics going on inside that city now. it's so white because the wind is whipping snow around. you could have drifts of 5 to 6 feet. and right next to it, almost nothing. now, as we have been saying here, when you have wind and you have water, the ultimate fear is power outage because of the weight on power lines. in connecticut, especially vulnerable, the prediction is 30% of customers could lose power. we're going to go from boston to ashleigh banfield in greenwich, connecticut, who has been monitoring the situation there. what's the latest? >> in fact, it's already happened, chris. the governor said, look, expect 30% of the customers in c

, by accident. prosecutors say the killing was intentional and premeditated. cnn's robyn curnow is joining us from johannasberg, south africa. the prosecutor's laid out their plan. how did they do? >> reporter: it was like a roller coaster. i felt like i was watching a television drama. initially when the prosecutor laid out their case, they gave damning evidence and found two boxes of testosterone and syringes in his house. by the time the defense came in after lunch, bit by bit they ripped apart the state's evidence and unravelled quite spectacularly at one stage because there was quite an interesting exchange between oscar pistorius' lawyers and the investigating officer and he said, well, how do you know this is testosterone? have you tested it yet? and he said, no, i just read the label on the box. and he said, if you had gone to any pharmacy or any chemist, would you know that this is a herbal medicine. that's the kind of interchange taking place. also, the investigating officer really looking quite red-faced by the end of his stint. he admitted that he he didn't wear protective foot co

in about an hour when it's dumped up to 30 inches of snow may pile up. we have cnn crews and reporters out in force covering every angle of this breaking story. forecasters say boston is likely to to be plastered with 30 as much as 40 inches of snow. let's start there. susan candiotti is watching the situation. looks like it's coming down pretty seriously, susan. >> reporter: oh, it sure is. but you know what, wolf? the worst is yet to come. right now, yes, we are feeling the beginning of the storm. but the worst of it should be hitting overnight when we will have mere whiteout conditions. now, remember, this is an area where they are getting blizzard warnings that will remain in effect until saturday afternoon. right now it feels like pellets, cold pellets hitting your face, similar to a hurricane, although obviously much colder than that. businesses have been closed, schools have been closed all day, transit systems shut down. and these are new englanders, includes bostonians who are used to these blizzard conditions. they remember the great blizzard of 1978, another bad storm in 2005. i

the fact that he sent this package that we heard about to cnn to another media outlet and you feel like he wants some sort of recognition, wants to make some kind of public statement and you're urging everybody to be ready for that? >> well, i would say based on what he did, which was send a package to cnn, that does tell us that he wants national or international attention. at least we have to allow for that possibility. and so, if this is what this is all about, he can no longer take on lapd because that's a formable force down there right now. it makes sense to me, there's a good possibility he could reach out for the media and probably not via the mail this time, but more likely through a phone call directly into a media outlet. i would just suggest as a possibility folks be prepared for that. >> martha: quickly, if you can, what do you think his next move is likely to be? >> here is what i can tell you backwards. he does not want to be in handcuffs, arrested and put in the back of a squad car driven by a lapd officer. he does not want that. they're the enemies. that leaves suicide and
